ROWOOD DRIVE
Latest update – 27 July 2005
Many residents will know that AH Field were
unsuccessful in their appeal to the government planning inspector. Thank
you to all involved in this issue. Hopefully the matter can now be put to
rest and I have called upon AH Field to leave residents of Rowood Drive in
peace.
Previous
information
Planning application 2004/1907 relates to a proposal to build two
two-bed roomed house on land adjacent to 408 Rowood Drive. On behalf of
residents I was previously successful in objecting to a previous
application, by the same developer4, to build three two-bed roomed houses.
As well as harming the street scene I, and residents, argued that the
land developers intended to build on was land originally set aside by local
planner, in early 1960’s, for the parking of vehicles. The land has
since been bought by A.H. Field (Developers). Any building on this land
would mean many vehicles being parked on the highway. This would create an
added danger for car drivers and emergency vehicles. Of greater concern
would be the added danger for school pupils and families who walk to nearby
schools.
The application is for hearing by Solihull Council’s Planning
Sub-committee on Wednesday
27 October 2004. I and a local resident intend to speak in
support of the planning officer’s decision – to refuse the
application.
